Bridges

A dental bridge replaces missing teeth and is most often made up of two or more crowns fitting onto the teeth either side of the gap. In some circumstances an adhesive bridge can be made, where a single tooth is replaced with the false tooth held in place by wings bonded to the inner surface of the supporting teeth.

Two appointments are required, the first is to prepare the relevant teeth and create a temporary bridge.
The second appointment will be to check the fit and appearance for the custom made bridge prior to its cementation.

Dentures

Partial dentures are used where only a few teeth are missing or the surrounding teeth are not suitable for supporting a bridge.

Partial dentures can either be made with acrylic or cobalt chrome (light alloy). Acrylic dentures require more coverage of the mouth, whereas cobalt chrome based dentures are less bulky and can be better for oral hygiene.

Full, or complete dentures are normally made out of acrylic and will replace all your teeth to the position and shape that you like.

A series of appointments is required to make dentures up to fit you correctly, as checks are made at each stage of their development as they are custom fit to you.
